Create a New Project in Adobe Premiere Pro
You'll launch Premiere Pro, name a new project, and save it into its own folder on your Desktop, ready for editing.
1Start a New Project

Launch Premiere Pro
⌘SpacePress ⌘Space to open Spotlight, type
premiere, and press Return when Adobe Premiere Pro 2026.app is highlighted.Step 2, Click
Start a New Project
On the Premiere Home screen, click the blue New Project button in the upper-left corner.
Step 3, Type
Name Your Project
In the New Project dialog, name it
Lastname_Firstname_Premiere_Projector whatever it says in the Project Instructions in the Project name field.
2Choose Save Location

Choose a Location
Click Browse... to the right of the Location field to pick where the project will be saved.
Step 5, Click
Expand the Save Window
If the Save window opens in its small, compact form, click the small downward arrow to the right of the Where menu to show the full file browser.
Step 6, Drag
Enlarge the Window (Optional)
If the window is still cramped, drag its lower-right corner down and to the right to make it bigger.
3Create Project Folder

Go to the Desktop
⇧⌘DPress ⇧⌘D to jump straight to your Desktop, or click Desktop in the sidebar.
Step 8, Click
Create a Project Folder
Click New Folder in the lower-left corner, type
My Projectas the folder name, and press Return (or click Create).Step 9, Click
Select the Folder
With the new My Project folder open, click Select in the lower-right corner.
4Finish Creating Project
Contents ↑Step 10, Click
Create the Project
Back in the New Project dialog, confirm the Location now ends in
Desktop/My Project, then click Create.
